Mermaids Scuba Diving PADI Career Development Center, Pattaya, Thailand has strived to offer the very best in professional dive training over the years with some very high success. Changing careers can be a nerve racking business but with our all-inclusive dive internship programs Mermaids try to make the transition as smooth as possible for the budding pro-diver.

Dive training is not expensive if you look at the value of what is included within the dive packages - literally taking a diver (or non-diver) with very little (or no) experience and offering them complete dive training with all of the equipment, manuals and materials to make it in the dive industry. Having said that, some budding dive professionals may not have the immediate resources to begin their adventure and new dive career. We have been frequently asked for assistance from those requiring financial aid for their dive training or a diver payment scheme - the CDL will assist all of those that are eligible to enter the professional dive industry and gain dive jobs.

Mermaids Dive Center have secured a Learning Provider association with CDL (Career Development Loans) and hence can accept dive students from Great Britain that have taken a vocational loan to train as a professional diver.

Giving Your Career a Lift

Since they were launched in 1988 Career Development Loans (CDLs) have helped tens of thousands of people to give their careers a lift. Men and women from a wide range of educational and employment backgrounds – employed, self-employed and unemployed – have benefited from the opportunity to help them invest in learning.

What is a Career Development Loan?

• A Career Development Loan (CDL) is a deferred repayment bank loan designed to help individuals to pay for vocational (vocational means it gives the learner the skills needed for an occupation, trade or profession) education or learning.
• The CDL program is run through a partnership arrangement between the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and three high street banks: Barclays, The Co-operative and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
• The banks have the responsibility for checking that applicants satisfy the eligibility conditions and that they will be able to repay the loan. All lending decisions are the responsibility of the bank concerned and they have the right to refuse any loan application.
