Free Scuba Diving Courses

Free PADI Divemaster courses, free PADI diving instructor courses, free scuba career job development, free scuba dive education in general…

…sorry but there is no such thing NO MATTER what the advertising says! Be very wary of ANY scuba dive company that advertises this !

Unfortunately we have some unscrupulous companies in the scuba diving industry that offer PADI courses for FREE but we all know that you get very little if not nothing in life for FREE.

It’s a shame as it’s easy to get sucked into this trap and it is damaging the dive industry reputation by having companies continually take advantage of certain people’s naivety. There is simply no way that any dive company can give you a good dive education to work towards a career in scuba unless it is paid for - it's as simple as that.

If you want me to tell you that the courses are Free then I will do so but then I shall raise the price of the accommodation or the dive education materials to cover these. You will have to pay inflated material expenses, pay your fees and buy all of your own scuba dive equipment. That’s how it works.

So often I am approached by people either asking for free courses in exchange for work or people that have been burned by this type of advertising. We can label the cost of the courses as NOTHING or FREE if you wish but really it is just advertising (and words) for a business but in unethical means. We prefer to give you the cost of the scuba program up front in order for you to know EXACTLY where you stand and know that there are no hidden costs at all.

Companies that tell you the instruction is free are not deceiving you 100%. Sure, the instruction is Free but then you will need to pay $500 - $700 PER MONTH for accommodation and expenses, $800 (minimum) for equipment, $500 for materials (ONLY up to dive master level), then $1500 at least for materials and fees to become an instructor. After this you will be bound working for the company for FREE for 3 – 6 months to pay for the courses (That were apparently FREE). That's great but bear in mind that whilst working for FREE as you had the instruction for FREE you are still paying for your accommodation and expenses at $500 - $700 per month with no pay. Now this actually works out more expensive than if you had actually paid the course fees in advance; and believe me it’s an awfully expensive loan percentage rate if you look at it as paying in stages.

We work in the way where all looks expensive but when you break it down for all of the accommodation INCLUDED, equipment INCLUDED (to keep), PADI fees PAID, materials INCLUDED, etc...It’s a great deal. We prefer the business ethics of giving you the price at the beginning and promise you that you will NOT pay any more unless stated and mutually agreed.

Offering you FREE dive or dive master courses is the same as offering you a BRAND NEW car for FREE. Great! But if you want for FREE you will have to be my chauffer for 6 months. But what I didn't tell you is that you must be on 24 hours call every day and hence live in my house...oh and by the way - they rent is $3000 per month...oh, and you have to pay for all gasoline...oh, and maintenance...oh, and the insurance and the Tax, oh,..., you get my drift on this one :-)

All of our pricing is extremely fair where all parties are satisfied. The student gets exceptional “package” - all inclusive value and first class training – we get satisfied customers and great ambassadors for the company reputation.

Learn-in-Asia and Mermaids have a very successful proactive dive job placement scheme where we have been sending dive instructors to work in Koh Chang, Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Samui, Khao Lak and Bangkok. Why would any one want a dive instructor trained by us to work for them - because they appreciate that we give them first class training and experience for their diving work.

To have to pay for training might hurt at first but you only get out what you put in and in this case it'll pay for itself time and time again.
