"Diving Life" Internship - Value Added Packages

Gold & Platinum Packages

The "Diving Life" internships that we offer from PADI Master Scuba Diver (MSD), PADI Divemaster (DM) or the FULL Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor (OWSI) have proven to be extremely popular and great value for money. After the professional education traineeships, interns go off to work or stay on for additional dives and experience. Some interns stay for the MSDT and/or STAFF dive internships after. This is not imperative but many feel that the additional experience will set them apart from the rest.

Due to this very reason, Learn-in-Asia Scuba Diving Academy is now pleased to introduce two value added packages that are a "bolt-on" to any of the internships. Both packages can be added to any of the "diving life" internships. Only the Platinum package requires some additional time and hence an additional months accommodation is included within the price. The Platinum Scuba Dive Professional Traineeship Program coupled with the Scuba Diving Professional Instructor Internship is the most comprehensive recreational and technical dive education package on the market offered by any scuba diving training facility.

The Full-Face Mask Diving Course - (Diver to diver and diver to surface communications)

Used as common practice by the military, safety divers and commercial divers underwater communicFull Face Mask FFM with Diver to Surface Communicationsation devices are now spilling over into recreational diving. The coms. equipment is still not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but is becoming more common place.

The AGA Divator mask manufactured by Inperspiro as used in the FFM course. This mask is the same item of equipment used by the military / fire / police / search & rescue teams world wide, and features built in 2 way single sideband radio communication gear operated by a simple ‘push to talk’ button located on the front of the mouthpiece. Communication with both another diver and the surface can be established.

The course is 2 days in length and the successful student will receive the PADI Full Face Mask diver certification.

To the Surface

DSAT Tec Deep Diver Course

Diving deep has it’s rewards in seeing things that few people see. Wrecks and fantastic marine creatures lie below 100% Oxygen Scuba Regulator for Decompression.the usual confine of recreational divers’ depths and by being trained to safely dive to these levels will expose all of these to you.

Having the training to be secure, responsible and safe at those depths increases your confidence and skills at shallower limits.

Scuba diving deep to 50 Meters does not allow you to exit the water by direct means to the surface. There are structured procedures that need to be adhered to in order to “off-gas” safely. Safety procedures include “staged” decompression stops and “gas switches” as you near the surface. The DSAT Tec Deep diver course will arm you with the skills and knowledge to perform all of the required procedures safely and maturely.

Course Objective:

The Deep Tec Diver course is intended for those divers with the prerequisite experience and training needed to dive outside of the usual recreational scuba limits.

Successful completion of the Deep Tech Training will allow the diver to:

  • Conduct a gas-switch, extended no-stop dives; decompression stop dives and accelerated decompression stop dives using air, enriched air (nitrox) and 100% oxygen, to 50 Meters using technical diving equipment and procedures to manage the risks involved.
  • Use learned motor skills required for technical diving.
  • Understand the hazards and risks involved with the above types of technical diving, as well as the limits of training received in the course. Never dived beyond the limits of the training.
  • Prepare for and respond to reasonably foreseeable emergencies that may occur in this type of technical diving. Being prepared is 99% of the solution to a dive problem.
  • To provide the foundational skills for further training in technical diving.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent).
  • Certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or equivalent).
  • Certified as a PADI Deep Diver (or equivalent).
  • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives including:
    • 20 Dives made with Nitrox.
    • 25 Dives below 18 meters/60 feet.
    • 15 Dives below 30 meters/100ft.

The Course includes:

The Tec Deep Diver manual, ALL instruction, equipment and gasses, and 12 training dives.

To the Surface

Advanced TRI-MIX Diver Course

The Advanced Tri-Mix course provides the training required to competently and safely breathe gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression. You’ll become skilled in use of Nitrox and oxygen mixtures in decompression dives to a maximum depth of 90 Meters.

The objective of the Advanced trimix diver course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.

Course Pre-Requisites:

Minimum age of 18 years Minimum certification as Extended Range Diver or Entry Level Tri-Mix Diver (or equivalent). Minimum of 150 logged dives. 35 logged dives must be deeper than 30 Meters or equivalent at the discretion of the participating instructor.

Course Requirements:

One full day of academics learning the dive planning and gas theory. 4 Open water decompression dives with an accumulated dive bottom time of 100 minutes. 2 of the class dives must be to a depth greater that 40 Meters.

The Dive Course includes:

All manuals, certification fees, gas, boat fees and required equipment and instruction is included within the cost of the internship.

To the Surface

Draeger Dolphin Re-breather Diver Course

The Re-breather is unlike open circuit scuba where the diver breathes out and his bubbles float directly to the surface betraying his position. Using a rebreather, the expired air is ‘scrubbed’ of carbon dioxide waste gas from the body, new oxygen is added, and the diver breathes his own air again, with little or no bubbles leaving the unit.

The ‘no bubbles’ aspect of the rebreather has made it the diving equipment of choice for military and special forces divers for decades. Current military models offer multi-hour durations and have performance specified to as deep as 300meters/1000ft depth.Draeger Re-breather Diver Course

The ‘no bubbles’ aspect is also extremely appealing and popular with underwater photographers that try to get as close to their intended subject as possible. A re-breather makes this much more possible as you can approach soundless. Additionally gas use in rebreather is extremely efficient allowing these very long dives to be accomplished using tiny tanks.

The Draeger dolphin rebreather was the first rebreather to be released for civilian use and has been around for about 10 years. It’s popular with photographers, or any divers who want to get right up close to fish without their own bubbles scaring the fish away.

Re-breather training dives are conducted to a maximum depth of 30 meters. Dive students are taught the theory behind rebreather design, usage and essential pre-dive checks, before going on to complete 3 Open Water dives.
