Holiday Dive Package Ideas As you'll know "Learn-in-Asia" with Mermaids dive education facility in Pattaya, Thailand offer an entire suite of scuba diving internships / traineeships and dive apprenticeships. This is great for the recreational or professional diver that wishes to enhance their dive skills over a prolonged period or study diving for a professional dive career. But what about you as the holiday diver or as a holiday maker wishing to become a diver. Pattaya is a very popular tourist destination with great dive destinations including superb coral dives and ship wrecks aplenty. With us having 3 privately owned dive boats in operation daily you'll not have to dive the same site twice - unless you wish to of course. Let's have a look at your holiday options - Dive packages:
If you are a certified diver already then
Pattaya really is a haven open to you. You really need at least 4 days
diving Koh Manwichai is not to be missed for a superb days diving also. There are two sites on the same island - the fingers and the wall. Both are first class Pattaya dive sites leaving you wishing the boat did not have to return to shore. If you are a diver that enjoys a little
"rust" (shipwrecks) as well as corals then you could not have come to

Taking PADI specialty courses here in Pattaya will allow you a wealth of diving skills to build upon as we offer many specialty courses (Many can be seen here) - This will allow you to dive the wrecks, stay down longer with Nitrox enjoying the underworld, enjoy one of our wonderful night dives (maybe on a ship wreck) and much more - you get to see all of the wonderful sites but build on your skills at the same time. If you are a PADI rescue diver already and opt for the 4 specialty courses with 1 FREE specialty course - this will automatically make you an MSD (Master Scuba Diver) - the highest trained non-professional scuba diver possible.
Our regular open water course offers you the full advantage of 1st class training with 4 superb dives over the coral island and allowing you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters. The regular training time period is 4 days. PADI however, realize that most holiday makers do not wish to spend so much time in a classroom whilst on vacation (especially in Thailand :-). Hence have given us very safe guidelines to make the course shorter with the same amount of content. We can safely and within the PADI regulations complete your open water course within a 3 day period. The way in which we do this is instead of having one day in the classroom, one day in the pool and 2 days in the ocean - we now have the classroom sessions on our boat (classroom in the cabin) and the pool sessions are made in a swimming pool like environment in one of our local bay areas that are shallow and crystal clear water. The entire course structure is presented and all of the skill sets learned but now you have one more free day to enjoy Pattaya or maybe an additional days diving. The cost of the 3 day open water course is the same as the 4 day open water course. Check scuba costs.
If you have a little more holiday free time then you can now take the PADI open water course in a dive package that includes the PADI National Geographic diver status. This is a wonderful dive training package that will leave your vacation dive certification an experience that you'll never forget and really open your eyes to the wonder of the marine world in a very different way. The NG (PADI National Geographic) diver package can be seen - here. One special reason why people like to complete the Open Water course in a safe yet timely fashion is so that they can achieve their PADI Advanced Open Water course also. By achieving both of these this allows the Pattaya diver to experience the ship-wrecks that we have here also. The open water course is superb as it allows you your first experience of the underwater world and opens up to a totally new life. Now as a diver you'll be able to take the plunge where ever you holiday and take home those additional memories with you - no holiday is complete without a dive memory. Coupling this training with the Advanced course is superb as this opens up new dive sites that are slightly deeper i.e. the wrecks and the deeper coral dives. To take the Open water and advanced courses as a combination is just 5 days in length - allowing you 9/10 dives and in many of the better sites in Pattaya. Taking the combination course allows you a free days diving to pleasure dive with no dive training involved but yet still under the direct supervision of an instructor and dive master (divemaster) increasing your confidence underwater.

to get to the best of the Pattaya dive sites. Both of the outer and the inner
(far and near) islands sport a wealth of marine life and superb corals. My
personal favorites are Koh Sak (near island), Koh Rin (far island - pictured
here next to the text) and Koh Manwichai (far island). Koh Rin can really be
a two day excursion as once you have dived the main island you'll wish to again
but there is also Koh Rin north rock and south rock which are two totally
different dive sites and well worth diving. North rock is renowned for it's
rays, large schools of fish and turtles. South rock has an abundance of small
bamboo sharks (completely harmless) dotted all over sheltering under the corals
and rock heads.
destination in Thailand than Pattaya. Pattaya boasts many shipwrecks and many
that have not been dived. We have Chinese junks, pottery wrecks and fishing
boats. The three most notable sunken vessels that we dive daily are the Bremen, the Krarm and the
Hardeep wrecks. The Hardeep and the Krarm cannot be missed for wreck lovers but too
support some large marine life. The Bremen is a little broken up (in 3 pieces)
but has some huge marble rays living on it. Catch it at the right tide and it
can be a wonderful dive that will leave you memory of scuba diving in Pattaya a
very pleasant one indeed.
