IDC and IE Pattaya Thailand - May 2005

Mermaids CDC, Pattaya, Jomtien, Thailand has been in operation since 1991. An IDC center since 1991 and a CDC (Career Development Center) for since 1995. Stephen Blumenthal is our course director and has taught in the area of 1000 dive instructors, many of whom work and live or even own dive shops and training facilities in Thailand.

As mentioned from January - ALL IDC's and IE's that we hold will now be documented. April IDC and the May IE (Instructor Exam) held one of the best group (again) to date. We had a staggering 20 candidates and a 100% pass rate - ALL passed with great scores - it's all to do with the 1st class dive training! :-)

The 20 candidates were - Shu Koizumi, Richard Wilson, Alicia Yawg, Jimbo, Roman Pulak, Lee Smitten, Phil Burtenshaw, Jennifer Waisaw, Steve Redmond, Stephen Stead, Marc Nuitjen, Linda Fleming, Mario Rossell, Alex Gerrard, Kim Yeow, Ed Habbacon, Jeff Santos, Chuw Kang, Trent Odner and Ryushuke Inutake - congratulations to ALL.

Following will be a couple pages of the entire IDC and the IE. Please do take time to peruse the pictures and enjoy the fun that the guys had on the IDC. There is a lot of pressure as this is basically what the guys and gals have been building for over the last 6 months or so but it is great fun and all in good spirits also. Allow me to introduce the team. In the first picture we have Stephen Blumenthal (the resident PADI Course Director for our CDC). Next we have STAFF instructors Tom K and HMS. Then we have STAFF instructors Claus and our resident Japanese STAFF instructor and translator Noriko. The last shot is again of HMS - our official IDC and IE STAFF member and photographer.
