Welcome to Mermaids Scuba Diving Career Training

Does the boulder cove and beach here in Thailand look more appealing than the inside of your office right now? Obviously a rhetorical question :-) Mermaid's CDC Learn-In-Asia (LIA) in tropical Thailand can allow you the opportunity to make the beach your office for a training period, or if you wish for a complete change of life then possibly for a lifetime. Dive interns that dive train with Mermaids range from gap year students to corporate professionals taking a career break here in sunny Thailand. Scuba diving instructor training is what Mermaids Dive Career Development Center specialize in.

Scuba diving internships are what Mermaids specialize in although we offer a range of diving internship programs. Check Internships. Dive training internships - we have aplenty that can be tailored to your dive training needs. We realize that everyone has different schedules due to a career breaks, work commitments or different goals in diving that they have set, which is why we offer a vast array of internships such as professional diving instructor training (IDC & IE) or the Divemaster program. As an addition Mermaids Dive offer technical diving programs, recreational diving internships for the PADI Master Scuba Diver and PADI diving career development internship courses such as the PADI MSDT and PADI Staff and our Dive Resort Business Management Training Course.

All scuba diving internships include accommodation, dive equipment, paid fees, specialty diver courses, dive training manuals and training aids, unique courses, Thai visa assistance (if professional level), pro-active "dive job placement" service (exclusive partnership with Diverjobs.com), 24-hour support and the dive adventure of a lifetime. Emergency First Response Instructor is given as standard in the Dive master and the scuba diving instructor internships - including manual. One-to-one personal dive instruction is available on request.

Mermaids CDC have been training PADI Instructors to work in the industry since 1991 as a PADI Career Development Center under the direct supervision of renowned PADI Course Director Steve Blumenthal built and steered the business over many years. Under Steve's guidance Mermaids created and pushed forward to make the most complete dive internships available. Dive Internships were Mermaid's creation in 1999 to ensure the very best professional start to any dive career.

(Association of Scuba Service Engineers & Technicians) courses offered monthly. NOTE: These courses may not generally appeal to all but the hardened scuba diving professional that wishes to enhance their scuba dive career on the surface as well as beneath. ASSET offers in-depth hands on experience with scuba diving equipment and tanks in testing, servicing and repairing. (An engineering mind would be an advantage). - Mermaids Career Development Center, a long time Project AWARE Dive Center now offer the Reef Check Eco Diver course. Reef Check is an international program that works with communities, governments and businesses to scientifically monitor restore and maintain coral reef health. Divers learn to identify fish, substrates and invertebrates in order to survey them along a transect line and collate data to a centrally located database. - The DSAT Tec Deep Basic Diver Specialty - PADI / DSAT have the perfect New Tec Diver course that allows a diver to take the beginning portion of the DSAT Deep Tec Diver Course. This offers the perfect opportunity to experience technical diving equipment and some of the elementary skills to tech diving including gearing up in Twin-sets. If the Basic Tec diver course is for you then you can simply upgrade to the Full Tec Deep Diver Course.

Mermaid's is pleased to offer the PADI Underwater Digital Photography Divers Specialty Course. With 3 instructors and a digital photo instructor trainer we cater for photography mad divers and professional divers wishing to be underwater digital photo instructors alike - Instructor training in this area is part of Mermaids Career Development Program.

(Instructor internship) - IAHD - International Association of Handicapped Divers training in Pattaya, Thailand. Mermaid's offer a full suite of IAHD courses. Instructor training for our dive interns and OWSI Instructors who wish complete scuba diving training for disabled divers. A very rewarding certification with good employability benefits. (Option to take this in the Internships).

Mermaid's  exclusive PADI Distinctive Specialty: “Full-Face Mask with Communications Diver” and also the “Self Sufficiency Diver Course” from the Professional Scuba Association International (PSAI): - again we are the ONLY company that are able to offer these combined courses. The PADI FFM course is offered as standard within the professional scuba diving internships.
