PADI Instructor Development Training March 2011 – Pattaya, Thailand
Seven new diving instructors celebrate after winning results in the March PADI diving instructor examinations in Pattaya. The preparation for the instructor exams can begin many months prior hence giving them great reason to celebrate after so much hard work and training.
The divers all came from many different backgrounds with a strong desire to change their lifestyle and work in the scuba diving industry. They began as recreational divers and progressed through the Dive Master qualification and working with these skills for months to build for the instructor training. The dive master and rescue diver skills and knowledge feature very heavily within the PADI Instructor Development Course and ultimately the PADI Instructor Exam. It is important to gain good solid experience as a DM as this will allow you to perform naturally within the diving instructor exams and pass with ease. Many of the scuba instructor candidates that we receive at Mermaid Dive maintain that the training for the IDC is so hardy that the examinations are actually easier than they thought. Of course the exams are not easy but the diver are very well prepared!
Congratulations to Anastasia, Jon, Amie, Michael ‘1’, Michael ‘2’, Joost and Tony! Operating the IDC were PADI platinum Course Director Rusty and PADI Plat CD Desi, joined by Staff Instructors Andy H, Henry, Thomas and William.
