PADI Instructor Development Program Pattaya May 2010
7 divers joined the Mermaids diving career internship from various levels of diver to become PADI instructors and achieved just that. We now have 7 new PADI scuba diving instructors all fully prepared for dive employment any where that they wish. The PADI scuba dive instructor rating is a great way to enter the dive industry for dive work. Proven time and time again to be the best entry level to scuba work, the new scuba instructors are well on their way. Mermaids offer 5 PADI Instructor specialty courses with the instructor programs as standard and hence they still have a little more work to do! The PADI specialty courses can be elected by the divers and Mermaids have an entire suite to choose from. The popular specs are Enriched Air Instructor, Deep Diver Instructor, Wreck Diver Instructor, Drift Diver Instructor, Night Diver Instructor and Search and Recovery Instructor. It is good to choose not only specialty instructor ratings that interest you as a diver but also ones that are applicable to the area that you wish to work in. I.e. there is no point in having the Wreck Diver Instructor Rating if the area that you wish to work in has absolutely no wrecks. Likewise, why choose the Deep diver spec if the area that you wish to be employed in has no dive sites over 15 meters (example)? Any way - back to the job in hand. We're here to congratulate the new PADI Scuba Dive Instructors on their great achievement. The new PADI scuba diving professionals are Paul, Tom, Ronan, Casey, James, Mel and Jens. Staffing the PADI IDC (PADI Instructor Development Course) were 2 PADI Platinum Course Directors and a PADI Staff Instructor allowing for an excellent dive student / instructor ratio.
