*NEWS* | Why Underwater Naturalist? If you're interested in aquatic life (as most divers:-), then the PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course is for you. This course is an introduction to the underwater aquatic environment and will help develop safe and responsible aquatic life interaction techniques. See how the marine world interacts with a coral or wreck environment such as the Hardeep shipwreck in Pattaya, Thailand. What do I need to start?
What will I do? During your PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty course, you'll learn underwater naturalist dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also get an overview of the major aquatic life groupings, interactions and factual information that dispels negative myths. You'll put this information into practice during your two open water dives. The course might be short but it gives a solid foundation of knowledge that can be built upon on subsequent dives. How long will it take?
Where can I go from here? Your Adventures In Diving Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dive may count towards your Underwater Naturalist Specialty course at instructor discretion. This Specialty course also counts toward one of the five required Specialties for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. |
