Scuba Tank and Equipment Service

New 700 bar/10,000 psi tank hydrostatic test facility is up and running. Contact Me to get your tanks visually and hydrostatically tested with the most modern equipment!

Scuba Equipment Repair Facility

LIA is equipped with a full service and repair facility where trained scuba diving equipment engineers perform equipment maintenance, repair, and assembly to manufacturers specifications. All of our scuba equipment engineers are also certified scuba diving instructors with years of field experience.

All equipment purchased from a LIA affiliated dive shop is fully assembled by a factory trained certified scuba instructor before you receive it. Unlike other dive centers (even possibly your own local dive store) where you may find anyone, even possibly an uncertified diver, assembling your equipment.

Mermaids (LIA Affiliate) services the full range of scuba equipment. The following represents some of the in house capabilities:

  •       Repair and maintenance of most scuba regulators, BCDs, dive computers.

  •       Repair of air compressor systems and mixed gas panels.

  •       Air purity tests to confirm to BS3045 and CGA “Grade E” .

  •       Hydrostatic & visual tests of scuba tanks.

  •       Oxygen / nitrox cleaning of scuba equipment for oxygen service.

  •        Rebreather repair & maintenance. (Re-breather).

  •        Custom design high pressure parts and modification of scuba equipment for commercial and military use at short notice.

The Regulator Set Repair ProcessPoseidon X-Stream Nitrox technical Scuba Diving Regulator.

A scuba regulator is a complex piece of life-support equipment. It represents a considerable amount of investment and value. Over the life of your regulator, contaminates from sand, salt, and chlorine can corrode your regulator, affecting performance and reliability. That’s why it is necessary to have your gear serviced by a certified repair facility. Let LIA Mermaids Dive Center service your regulator.

Our  final "Quality Assurance" test will verify that:

  •       The regulator is adjusted to specification, and then checked by a human to assure that beyond the specification, it really does breathe OK.

  •       Any authorized modifications and additions have been carried out.

  •       All the hoses have been refitted correctly, the connections are tight, and no bubbles are emitted from anywhere.

  •       All unused ports are plugged.

  •       All old parts are "bagged".

  •       Any replacement parts are priced.

  •       Paint marking are made on adjustment devices to ‘fix’ the current service state an indicate any future user tampering.

  •       The warrantee card is filled out.

Repair Facility Administration Information
