SCUBA Cylinder testing is essential to any dive business that values its customers. Testing of SCUBA tanks is a vital part of scuba service that is often overlooked or avoided to cut overheads (you deserve a wrap on the knuckles!). All high pressure cylinders with a capacity of over 1 litre need a periodic test. A tank used for SCUBA requires a test within every 2.5 years. Depending on which test was last carried out and when the test will either be a hydrostatic test or a visual inspection. Surface cylinders (NOT Submersible) need a hydrostatic test every 5 years. Cylinders which are static (large bank cylinders) require a hydrostatic test every 10 years. Staying within these limits vastly reduces the risk of using high pressure cylinders.
By having the skills and knowledge to test scuba tanks in-house saves money and time for a business. If you have to send away your tanks to be inspected then this takes them out of action and hence service to your customers. Having a well scheduled service on scuba tanks allows for a dive business to easily rotate tank usage and maximise ROI on tanks.
The ASSET 2 day CYLINDER TESTING COURSE (Part 1) is the first part of a two-level training scheme and introduces the theory and practice of cylinder testing.
On successful completion of the course the candidate will be awarded the ASSET CYLINDER TESTING (Part 1) Practices & Procedures Certificate.
There are no pre–requisites for the Tank Testing Training.
